Literature passages: The Black Beauty
Hi! Yesterday I found it a great idea to reward myself after a harsh semester -or, almost “after”, as I have to write one more essay plus my dissertation proposal- and read some classic equine literature. When I search for classic fiction, I check the Amazon Kindle store, where such books are often offered free of charge and you can read them on your portable device in any place you fancy. And here we go, I picked “Black Beauty”, downloaded it for free and read it in one night! Though it was afternoon when I started and morning when I finished. But well, it’s just me… I want to share…

Childhood memories
Hi from a busy desk! For those wondering, I’ve been mega busy, racing for essay deadlines! Life is a challenge for a mature postgraduate student! But hey, everything is under control! Yesterday my mother was submitted to an operation. Unfortunately, she lives in Crete and I live in Nottingham, so I couldn’t be with her. But, as the time for the essay was running short and I couldn’t concentrate, family memories began to flood my head. I remember spending days or weekends in my mother’s village, with my grandparents. I recalled especially the time I spent with my grandmother. She would spend all morning doing housework, while my grandfather would…

Equine Therapy-Battling with schizophrenia: Morgan’s inspiring video
Good evening to all my sweet readers! You who have followed this blog for a little longer, might remember an article about Morgan, a lovely girl from Ohio suffering from schizophrenia. You might want to know that Morgan is doing great, and also that the family altogether are doing great! Morgan is a little heroine, while her parents are real warriors, and the most impressive thing is that they fight together! I have been in touch with them and I am very glad to know that these strong people are doing awesome! Recently they sent me an e-mail with this very touching video: Finishing this post, I would like to send a plea…

What I would gift my horse for Christmas -if I had one
Here I am, break at work (well, I blog, work and study altogether -and it feels terrible only when I have to miss equestrian socials and lessons!). My supervisor has been playing Christmassy music to cheer us up, having showed us 4 boxes of chocolate, whose contents are all supposed to end up in our stomachs (and I am the person closest to these boxes, so imagine -_- ). So, with all these cheers and treats, I began to think about the -horsey- gift I would like to give myself! A new pair of breeches and a shirt are in myself’s wishlist. This is how I began to search on the…

So you want to know about the Greek cross country
There are places in the world that are perfect for cross-country competitions; with flat valleys, rivers, and space to place things to jump over. But in Greece it’s not the same; valleys are all irrigated and the only thing that you’ve got available are windy countryside roads, beaches, slopes, gorges and forests! So, if you love cross-country, you have to adapt to this environment and you won’t be asked! You will have to gallop across steep slopes and gorges, at risk of sticking your face on some olive tree or landing on an ancient rock! And don’t expect too much jumping. Try to keep your balance instead! People who do…
